Rock Beauty (Holocanthus tricolor)

20cm, possibly up to 30cm

Suggested minimum aquarium size when adult:
300 litres

Difficulty:
Intermediete

Feeding:
Should eat frozen Brineshrimp or Mysis, may take dried to food when settled. Large specimens also take cockle.

Reef safe:
Safe with crustaceans, snails etc. But not recommended for the reef aquarium as they will eat almost any sessile invertebrate, corals, anemones, polyps etc.

Compatibility:
Don't keep with other large angels, but should mix ok with other fish of a similar size that are not similar in colouration. Like many large angels can become aggressive to newcomers once established.

Other information.
When small Rock Beauty's are primarily yellow with a black spot on the rear of its body, as the fish grows so does the black spot. Eventually the Rock Beauty with be three quarters black with a yellow edge around its fins and black lips.

All marine fish are only available for collection and payment in store. We are happy to reserve a fish in stock for up to 5 days. However, this will still be shown on our website until collected. Fish not collected within the specified period will be offered for sale without further notice.
