Peterborough’s longest established aquatic retailer, with over 250 aquariums full of healthy fish, cared for by our qualified staff. Voted best overall aquatic shop in the East by readers of Practical Fish Keeping Magazine.

When the WaterZoo opened in March 1986, it had one objective. To be the best aquatic shop in the area. Whilst there have been many changes since then we are still true to that objective.

Our staff have a wealth of experience, backed by relevant qualifications to help you choose the right product for your needs, or suitable fish/coral for your aquarium.

If it’s fish you are looking for we have a huge range with between a 100 and 150 marine species, and around 300 tropical freshwater species to choose from. All marines are hand selected, rested for 7 days and not offered for sale until we sure they healthy and feeding. Our tropical fish are supplied from just three suppliers all who we have dealt with for at least 15 years, again these are quarantined on site before being offered for sale. All fish are fed three times daily and looked after by keen fishkeepers who know how to care for them. All our fish have a 7 day guarantee.

We have been trading for over 25 years, we are not here for the short term or to make a ‘quick buck’. We do not knowingly sell a product you don’t need, or is poor quality, or advise you to stock your aquarium too quickly, we want to do what is right for you and your fish.

We evaluate most products before we stock them, and in many cases use them, this enables us to offer first hand experience. We know how they work, what the problems and benefits are. If a product is poor we won’t stock it, if we get negative customer feedback or find it to be unreliable we will discontinue it.

    But it’s not all about price, should a product develop a fault under guarantee, we are able to offer an immediate repair or replacement service. Just bring the product in along with a proof of purchase, we will check it over, and if faulty offer you a replacement, there and then. We will deal with all the hassle of getting the product back to the manufacturer, all you have to take it home and install it. Even if your product is out of guarantee, we are happy for you to bring it in and we will take a look and advise free of charge.

  • 7 Day Fish Guarantee

    At The WaterZoo we do everything to ensure our fish livestock is of the highest quality, to back this up we have a written livestock policy & offer a 7 day guarantee. If you have any complaints about the quality of your livestock purchases, please notify us within twenty four hours. In the unlikely event of a fish dying within 7 days of purchase we will replace it with one of the same species or value. Subject to conditions.

  • Fast & Free Shipping

    All orders over £50 receive free shipping.  Our web site shows current stock quantities, so it is very unlikely an item ordered will be out of stock. We normally dispatch smaller orders (below 2kg) up until 1pm the same day by Royal Mail first Class. Heavier orders will also be sent the same day, but by 48 hour service. We will even dispatch on Saturday mornings, so you should receive you order on Monday (excluding bank holidays), if placed on Friday night or Saturday morning before 11am.
