Convict Tang (Acanthurus triostegus)

Difficulty:
Easy-Moderate

Feeding:
Will eat frozen Mysis & Brineshrimp will take dried foods readily when settled. Appreciates some vegetable matter e.g. dried seaweed.

Reef safe:
Considered reef safe. Will graze on algae

Compatibility:
Like many Tangs can be aggressive to newcomers once established, although the Convict Tang is one of the more peaceful, so less of a problem than similar species. Don't keep with other fish of a similar body shape or colouration, but should mix well with other similar size fish. Can be kept with other Convict Tangs in a large enough aquarium if all introduced at the same time.

Other information.
Tangs are very active swimmers, ensure the aquarium has plenty of open space. Tangs are generally more prone to Whitespot than other marine fish, although Convict Tang are relatively resistant, as Acanthurus Tangs go.

Our Tangs are hand picked from TMC and rested on our premises for at least 7 days and guaranteed feeding before being offered for sale.

All marine fish are only available for collection and payment in store. We are happy to reserve a fish in stock for up to 5 days. However, this will still be shown on our website until collected. Fish not collected within the specified period will be offered for sale without further notice.
