Candy Cane Hogfish (Bodianus sepiacaudus)

Difficulty:
Easy-Intermediate

Feeding:
Will eat frozen Plankton, Mysis, Spirulina enriched Brineshrimp. Will usually take dry foods once settled.

Reef safe:
Good reef aquarium fish, adults may be a threat to very small crabs and shrimps e.g. Sexy Shrimps

Compatibility:
Usually peaceful with similarly sized fish, does not tolerate aggression well, especially when small.
We would not recommend keep keeping with other Wrasse, or Dwarf Parrots, especially in kept in smaller aquariums.

Other information.
A very peaceful and small Hogfish, good choice for the smaller reef aquarium. This species often jumps, so a cover is recommended. Prefers aquariums with lots live rock that were it can seek shelter, will be very shy in sparsely decorated aquariums.
