Blue Cheek Goby (Valencienna strigata)
AKA Gold Head Sleeper Goby

Maximum size:

Suggested minimum aquarium size when adult:
200 litres

Moderate - difficult

Will eat frozen Mysis and Brineshrimp, will usually eat flake or pellets if they sink to the bottom. Need frequent feeding to prevent starvation.

Reef safe:
Yes, but may dig and some sand could be dropped on coral.

Generally peaceful with other similar sized fish, if kept with active species, ensure enough food reaches the bottom. Can be kept singularly or as a matched male/female pair introduced at the same time.

Other information.
We try and pair these fish up while they are in quarantine. They are excellent sand sifters that can cause some clouding of the water when first introduced. They need lots of sinking food, e.g. frozen Mysis or pellets to prevent them from becoming emaciated. This fish is known to jump out, tight fitting cover suggested.
