Hand Selected Koi 7-8" (Cyprinus carpio)
Maximum size:
Possibly 90cm, more commonly around 30-60cm
Suggested minimum pond size when adult:
1000 gallons (4500 litres)
Difficulty:
Easy, but requires a large pond with good filtration.
Feeding:
Feed several times a day on flake or small pellets when water is above 10C, ensure all the food offered is eaten, otherwise this will pollute the water. When water temperature is below 10C use a wheatgerm food and feed sparingly.
Compatibility:
Koi mix well with most other pond fish, but are greedy, especially during the summer months when the water is warmer.
Other information.
Koi is Japanese for Carp. Koi come in many colour varieties each of which have a Japanese name, e.g. Kohaku, depending on the colour.
These fish are UK bred so well adapted to the English climate
