\nAKA Yellowtail Tang
\n
\nMaximum size:
\nExceptionally up to 35cm, rarely seen above 15cm
\n
\nSuggested minimum aquarium size when adult:
\n300 litres
\n
\nDifficulty:
\nEasy
\n
\nFeeding:
\nWill eat frozen Mysis & Spirulina enriched Brineshrimp, will take dried foods readily when settled. Appreciates some vegetable matter e.g. dried seaweed.
\n
\nReef safe:
\nConsidered reef safe. Will graze on algae
\n
\nCompatibility:
\nLike many Tangs can be aggressive to newcomers once established, Purple Tangs more so than others. Don't keep with other fish of a similar body shape or colouration, but should mix well with other similar size fish. Only keep one Purple Tang per aquarium. Colours become more intense in an aquarium with plenty of live rock upon which they can graze.
\n
\nOther information.
\nTangs of the Zebrasoma family are more resistant to Whitespot than other Tangs.
