Shubunkin 4-5" (Carassius auratus)

Maximum size:
Possibly 40cm, more commonly around 20cm

Suggested minimum pond size when adult:
If being kept in a pond allow 360 litres of water volume per adult Shubunkin.

Difficulty:
Easy

Feeding:
Feed several times a day on flake or small pellets when water is above 10C, ensure all the food offered is eaten, otherwise this will pollute the water. When water temperature is below 10C use a wheatgerm food and feed sparingly. Shubunkins appreciate the occasional feed of frozen Bloodworm or Daphnia

Compatibility:
Shubunkins mix well with most fish of a similar size when kept in a garden pond

Other information
Shubunkins are a colour variant of the Goldfish. These fish are fish are bred and reared in the UK, so are well suited to the English climate and can be kept outside throughout the year.
