\nA fluidised reactor is the most efficient way to use many types of filter media. Water is pumped down to the bottom of the cylinder through a central tube. It then rises back up the cylinder causing any filter media to forced into suspension. The constant water flow and tumbling of the media, ensures that no 'channelling' occurs, so the full surface area is utilised.
\nFluidised reactors are suitable for use with any aquarium and require an adjustable pump with a flow rate of 300 -1500 lph to fluidise the media (not included).
\nThe most common use is to fluidise phosphate remover, e.g. Rowaphos, this increases the efficiency and the life of the product dramatically, and we use several reactors for this purpose in the shop.
\nIt can also be used to fluidise Bio Pearls to help reduce nitrate and phosphate. It also makes an excellent fluidised sand filter, to boost biological filtration in heavily stocked aquariums.
\n
\nThe FMR75 reactor is supplied with the following components
\nFMR reactor, approx. 45cm high including hosetails.
\n3 x lengths of green transluscent plastic tubing, approx.50cm
\nNon return valve
\nFlow adjustment tap
\n2 Grades of media sponges
\n8 x cable ties for securing the pipework
\nFor the unit to operate you will need to purchase a pump with a flow rate of between 300 and 1500 litres per hour.
\n
\nFMR75 use tips
\nOver time or if over tightened, the lid may grip the triple seal o-ring making the reactor difficult to unscrew. To assist easy removal we advise that the triple seal and threads are lightly lubricated with Vaseline or food grade silicone grease before assembly.
\nThe fine and coarse sponges included in the pack need to be fitted in an order or even omitted depending on the media used.
\nIf the media does not fluidise with the full flow rate through the reactor then please check that you have the feed and return pipes connected the correct way round. The feed must go into the spigot in the centre of the reactor lid.
\nIf there is no flow through the reactor and the pump is running then check that the non return valve is connected the correct way round to allow water to pass through.
\n
\nTHE HOSE CONNECTORS ON THE TOP OF THE REACTOR ARE A TIGHT PUSH FIT ONTO THE LID OF THE REACTOR WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU GLUE THESE FITTINGS IN PLACE FOR EXTRA SECURITY ONCE THE FINAL POSITION IS DETERMINED. THIS WILL PROVIDE EXTRA ASSURANCE THAT THE CONNECTOR WILL NOT COME OFF AT SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE IF THE REACTOR IS KNOCKED OR DISTURBED OR THE CONNECTORS WERE NOT PUSHED ON PROPERLY IN THE FIRST PLACE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF WATER FROM THE AQUARIUM.","sku":"7551","mpn":"FMR75","brand":{"@type":"Thing","name":"Deltec/D-D"},"offers":{"@type":"Offer","url":"https://www.waterzoo.co.uk/shop/D-D-H2OCEAN-FLUIDISED-REACTOR-M7551","priceCurrency":"GBP","price":"49.99","availability":"https://schema.org/InStoreOnly"}}
