Fu Manchu Lionfish (Dendrochirus biocellatus)
Suggested minimum aquarium size when adult:
Will usually only take live Rivershimp, initially but once well settled may take frozen Mysis or Krill
With caution, will eat crustaceans and fish small enough to fit in its deceptively large mouth.
Should be safe with corals, polyps, Anemones etc.
Peaceful, although there may be some aggression between own kind. Should not be kept with species that may compete with it for food, or with fish or shrimps the Lionfish may view as food.
The smallest of all the Lionfish, but also more difficult to keep, due to it being unwilling to take frozen food. Quite shy, often hides away, although they are less likely once settled if not kept with active species. Like all Lionfish the Fu Manchu is a venomous species.
