Polished root is a very hard light coloured spindly wood. Its small size an spindly proportion make it a good choice for aquascaping nano freshwater aquariums.
Our photo shows a typical piece approx 20cm high, although as this is a natural product there is significant variation in shape.
Polished root is more buoyant than some of the other woods available so may take a week or so to sink, although some pieces sink immedietly. It always worth soaking wood prior to adding to the aquarium as some may release tannins. These can discolour the water, this is harmless and can be removed by the use of carbon or frequent partial water changes.
