Common Filefish (Acreicthys tomentosus)
AKA Aiptasia Eating Filefish
Rarely seen larger than 8cm
Suggested minimum aquarium size when adult:
Will eat frozen Mysis, Brineshrimp, Plankton, will take dried foods readily when settled. Will also eat Aiptasia (pest Anemones)
With caution, appear safe with Anemones, Soft Corals, Polyp and SPS Corals. Not recommend they are mixed with any Euphyllia species as they nip at these causing them to retract.
Safe with Shrimp, Crabs and snails, provided they are not too small
Avoid keeping with aggressive or boisterous fish. Can be kept singularly or with its own kind if added all at the same time, although over time a dominant fish may develop and bully smaller individuals.
Very easy to keep, great at camouflage they can change colour and pattern. Often sit motionless.
