In addition to free instore expert advice, and all the other services you would expect from a good aquatic shop. The WaterZoo can provide a number of additional services (local area only) to maintain your aquarium or pond.
Water Testing
Have your aquarium or pond water tested by one of our trained and qualified staff. They will not only check the water for you, but advise you on the results and suggest remedial action. Our water testing service is offered in store only, please bring at least 100ml of water in a clean container.
We can test freshwater for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, GH, KH, this service costs £1.50. Phosphate can also be tested for an additional £1.00, this service takes around 5 minutes.
Saltwater can be tested for Salinity, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, KH (alkalinity), Phosphate, Calcium & Magnesium. To test for all these parameters using high accuracy kits (Salifert or Merck equivalent, where available) costs £9.75. This service takes around 15 minutes.
Fish Boarding service
When moving house or redecorating there is enough to concern your self with. It is much easier to move your aquarium without having to worry about the welfare of your livestock. For this reason The WaterZoo offers the fish boarding service. All you have to do is arrange to bring your fish or marine invertebrates in well in advance, preferably on a weekday. Your livestock will be housed in their own aquarium, fed three times daily, and cared for by our knowledgeable staff. When you are ready to collect your livestock, we will catch them and pack them for a safe trip home.
The cost for this service is £20.00 for the first 10 days, then £1.00 per day, payable when you bring in your livestock. If you require boarding for invertebrates as well as fish the cost is £30.00 for the first 10 days then £2.00 per day. The largest aquariums available for boarding are 55 gallons for freshwater & 100 gallons for marine. If you have an internal or external canister filter we can keep this running for you as well. This will enable you to get your aquarium up and running again in the shortest possible time.
Please note. While we will take the utmost care while your fish or invertebrates are with us, we are not responsible for any losses that may occur.
Pond Vac hire
Hire one of our pond vac and clean your own pond in a matter of hours, without taking out the fish.
Aquarium installation
We can provide a delivery and commissioning service from simple set ups through to complex marine aquariums. Priority is given to Customers requiring installation who have purchased their aquarium and equipment from The WaterZoo.
Aquarium moving
We can strip down your aquarium and move it to another room or house and set it up again with the minimum of fuss.

Regular aquarium maintenance
Available for Marine, Tropical and Cold water aquariums. In our experience most aquariums require maintenance (water change, filter clean, etc) at least once a month to look there best. Marine and planted aquariums may require more frequent maintenance.
Aquarium maintenance is does on a contract basis, with 3, 6 or 12 month contracts, payable at commencement.
The cost of our services is £40.00 per hour, plus materials used. Please note, due to existing commitments, aquarium moving and regular aquarium maintenance have very limited availability..
