We have 2 marine filtration systems one for fish & one for Invertebrates.
Marine fish
This consists of 50 sales and 12 quarantine aquariums and has a capacity of over
3500 gallons. At any one
time we have between 100 & 150 different species in stock. This generally
includes a wide range of species from hardy fish like Damsels & Clowns as well as the more delicate
Angels & Butterfly's. These are all hand picked from the supplier by
ourselves and then rested in our quarantine area for at least 7 days prior to
sale. They are all fed three times a day, and cared for by our full time staff,
all of which keep marines at home . We are very confident of the quality of our marine fish, so all are covered by our 7
day written guarantee. Connected to the main filtration system is our large
fish only display aquarium. This holds over 1100 gallons and contains shoals of Wimples,
Seargeant Majors, as well as
many other species.

Ammonia
Alert
Continuously monitors and
detects ammonia in fresh water or marine aquariums. It is placed directly in
the aquarium as you would a thermometer. It is quite discreet as it only
measures 4cm by 6cm and is mainly transparent.
Unlike many test kit Ammonia Alert is not affected by the use of ammonia
removers. Many test kits still indicate the presence of ammonia after is has
been neutralized. The Ammonia Alert consists of a waterproof colour
comparison card, in the centre of this is mounted a small sensor disc. The
disc changes colour depending on the amount present in the aquarium. It can
detect levels as low as 0.02 milligrams per litre. Ammonia is extremely
toxic to all fish & invertebrates, levels as low as 0.25 milligrams per
litre can kill most fish. The higher the pH the more toxic ammonia becomes,
so it’s especially important to monitor ammonia in aquariums where the pH
is above neutral (7.0). If well maintained the Ammonia Alert has an
effective life of twelve months.
