NEW INVERT SKIMMER INSTALLED
We have recently upgraded the protein skimmer on our 7000 litre invertebrate system. While the old Turbofloter 5000 twin performed ok we felt it did not remove as much waste as it could. We have always been impressed with the performance of our large Deltec skimmer on our marine fish system and opted for the slightly smaller AP1004. It is driven by four Ehiem 1060 pumps drawing in a massive 3000 litres of air per hour. Water is fed into the unit at 2000 litres per hour. Now it is run in the performance is excellent, this is enhanced further by the self cleaning kit. Twice a day this automatically washes and cleans the cup and improves performance by up to 20%. For those who would like one for there own aquarium, they are available to order for £2250, plus carriage!
