Why test for ammonia?
Ammonia, is constantly excreted into the aquarium by the inhabitants and is highly toxic to all fish, coral, crustaceans etc. Frequently testing of ammonia will indicate if the biological filter is working effeciently. Ammonia is often a problem in new aquariums where the filter has not yet esablished.
Ammonia becomes increasingly toxic as pH rises, ammonia should be tested in conjunction with pH test kit.
