Algarde Biofoam 45 Aquarium filter.
Suitable for aquarium with a maximum capacity of 10 gallons (45 litres), ideal for fry rearing tanks where other filters are unsuitable.
How it works
With the Algarde Biofoam 45 filter, filtration is achieved in 2 ways. First, the powerful airlift draws water through the Biofoam element where organic debris in water adheres to the surface of the filter.
Secondly, whilst the large particles remain on the outer surface, smaller particles are drawn into the pores of the Biofoam element where bacteria break them down by biological action and render them harmless. This biological action can take up to 4 weeks from the initial installation of the Biofoam 45 filter before it becomes fully functional.
Instructions for use
Remove the Biofoam 45 filter from the packaging and place in the aquarium. Then squeeze the foam several times until it becomes saturated with water.
Attach the Biofoam 45 filter to the inside of the aquarium in an upright position by means of the suction cups.
Attach airline, (not included) from an air pump (not included) and adjust the airflow to give a steady stream of bubbles.
The Biofoam 45 will start working immediately to remove water borne particles, but will take up to 4 weeks to become biologically active.
Maintenance
The Biofoam 45 element should be removed and rinsed with waste aquarium water in order to remove the accumulation of dirt within the filter element. Using aquarium water avoids destroying the beneficial bacteria that live within it.
PLEASE NOTE
This is a filter ONLY, you will require a small air pump e.g. Newair 1 & airline to operate the filter. A non return valve may also be required if the air pump is situated below water level.

Small and lightweight items (below 2kg) will normally be sent via Royal Mail 1st class, and will be delivered within 2 - 5 days.
Larger orders with a total weight over 2kg will normally be sent via parcel carrier for delivery the next working day.
Any orders placed over a weekend will be dispatched on Monday. If the order is placed over a bank holiday it cannot be dispatched until the first working day.
We reserve the right to use the most cost effective service to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
